Tamara Carroll was born (10-15-52) and raised in Yuma, Arizona. She describes herself as "one of the rare, natural born desert rats."

The decision as to her life's work started with the first crayon. By age five she had two definitions of wealth: a pool in the back yard and a box of 64 different colored crayons. The first never happened. The second happened in adulthood.

Tamara became a professional artist at the age of twelve with the sale of an oil painting, a portrait. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Arizona State University in 1974, majoring in Art and Education with an emphasis in painting and drawing.

About a decade later she earned her Master of Arts in Elementary Montessori Education at North Texas State University. In 1988 Tamara came home to Arizona, this time to the northern part of the state where she worked as an interior designer, focusing on permanent installations of custom designs in natural stone, water-jetted and sandblasted inlays.

Tamara now resides in Cottonwood Arizona and is teaching arts and crafts at a resort in Sedona Arizona.
